Who is Simone?

Simone is twenty eight year old stripper with blue eyes, long dark hair and a PI license. She lives in a one bedroom flat in Elwood and drives possibly the worst car in the world for surveillance. An unreliable 1967 Ford Futura with zebra skin seat covers and a disco ball hanging from the rear vision mirror.

Simone grew up with her single mother and brother in various locations around Australia, finally spending most of her teenage years in an alternative community not far from Byron Bay.

After school she had a series of crap jobs: deckhand on a prawn trawler, waitress, dishpig, shop assistant, and almost finished an arts degree in Sydney.

She moved to Melbourne and was working as a checkout chick at Coles on Elizabeth Street when she quit one day, walked out of the supermarket and down the stairs of the Crazyhorse adult cinema a few doors up. She’d seen the sign advertising for dancers every day on the way to work and was curious about what went on down there.

Working in the peepshow’s led to buck’s parties, pub strips, and Simone meeting her best friend, Chloe. Simone found she loved stripping, it was creative and getting up on stage gave you the best performance high. But it was a young woman’s game and she needed a career for the future, before everything started to sag.

She’d always had a secret desire to join the police force, partly to rebel against her hippy upbringing and because a couple of cops once saved her mother from a violent boyfriend. She applied but was rejected when the powers that be decided the service had quite enough scandal without adding a former stripper to the mix.

She decided the next best thing was to do a private investigators course, graduated top of her class, and immediately started getting into trouble.

Simone likes flirting, individually wrapped cheese singles, and country songs about drinking whiskey and being on the run from the law.
